Our human library returns for 2024! As part of our Saturday community day we will once again have our incredible library of legends!
We have a book nook featured on our ground floor, a single chair and a single light to shine the spotlight on our human books. Pull up a chair and take the opportunity to hear someone else's story, learn from veterans of the community, venue owners, professionals and teachers. Those who love the lifestyle and those that live it too.

DK Leather
DK Leather, head of the UK KRueL Leather Family since the nineties. Infamous demo/workshop sharers on all things; likely most notorious for the annual whip boxing championship and the breathplay workshop '10 seconds'. A fascinating life story; trans, polyam, leather, shamanic, and much more.

Kali_Ma
Kali joined the scene at the tail end of 2005. Little did they know that this toe-dipping exercise to see if kink was their thing would lead to the journey that followed. Their first event was at the much loved and sadly lost Ceasers in Balsall Common, where on their third visit (in three weeks), they were introduced to needle play…and their sadism was unleashed.
Kali has run many events in their time on the Birmingham scene. It started first (less than two months after their first event) with the Birmingham Midweek Munch. Its creation was instigated by an equally fresh-faced friend, and they were promptly co-opted to host. That hosting role lasted 15 years before they handed the reins over to the lovely TexasPete and Co. They’ve run various events, some for just a handful of people, others for two to three hundred guests catering to various demographics and kinks within the community. Now co/ hosting just three successful events, they continue contributing to a vibrant, busy, inclusive local scene. Identifying as queer themself, Kali is a staunch advocate for local kinky LGBTQIA+ folk.
